This amplifier will operate both FM and SSB with 75 watts output while using any 10 watt transmitter as an exciter. You can now operate the amplifier with most hand helds, both hi power and low power!. The amplifier power output is typically 2 watts with 250 milliwatts input or 75 watts output with 10 watts input. The circuitry for this amplifier was designed and tested by Motorola as described in their application note AN791. The circuit is protected against high SWR and can withstand an open or shorted output without damage. The input VSWR is nominally 1.2:1 to 1.5:1. The circuitry is protected against reverse polarity of the input DC voltage. The output of the amplifier incorporates a stub-tuned lowpass filter to reduce the output harmonics to meet FCC specifications. A built-in IN/OUT switch allows you to instantly switch the amplifier on or off line as desired.
