What to Check on an RF Transformer Drawing Before You Order

A drawing helps prevent ordering mistakes

Two components may have similar electrical descriptions yet differ in dimensions, connection orientation, or mounting arrangement. Before approving an RF transformer for an assembly, compare the mechanical drawing and product details against your required fit. Check overall dimensions and clearances

Look for width, height, length, lead projection and any required clearance. Account for the physical envelope of the installed component—not merely the main body. If an assembly has a tight layout, record the dimensions on the sourcing sheet and have the engineering team confirm compatibility.

Verify electrical identification

The drawing, product selection and bill of materials should agree on winding configuration, impedance-ratio label and any identified material option. For example, the RF1000 listing offers different material and turn selections. An identical family name does not automatically mean an identical ordered part.

Confirm leads and finishes

Lead position, bend requirements and solder preference may matter during manufacturing. Record the approved arrangement clearly rather than relying on an informal note.

Keep drawings and revisions together
