How to Read RF400, RF600, RF800 and RF1000 Transformer Ordering Options
Practical product and purchasing information for RF engineers, manufacturers and component buyers.
Why ordering details matter
Two transformers with similar family names are not necessarily interchangeable. The selected core material, winding configuration and lead finish can all affect fit and application suitability. Communication Concepts manufactures RF400, RF600, RF800 and RF1000 transformer lines in-house. When reviewing our RF transformer catalog, identify the exact configuration—not just the family name—before placing a production or replacement order.
Start with the full part configuration
CCI product pages present options such as turns, core material and lead or lead-free solder. Some listings also offer a core without a secondary winding. A product-family name alone may not identify the configuration required by an existing circuit. If you are replacing a component, compare the original bill of materials, drawing, and order details against the current product selection.
What the impedance-ratio labels mean
On the relevant CCI product listings, one through five turns correspond to the offered nominal impedance-ratio choices 1:1, 1:4, 1:9, 1:16 and 1:25. These are catalog configuration labels; they are not a guarantee that any transformer will work across every frequency, impedance, or power condition. Review the applicable engineering documentation and the complete circuit requirements.
Material and operating range
Core material is another product-specific option. Not all CCI transformer families offer the same set of materials, and frequency guidance depends on the material and product construction. The current RF400 and RF1000 pages show different material selections. Don't assume an option offered for one family is offered for all others.
Purchase-order checklist
Before submitting an order, record the transformer family, material selection, winding/turns, solder preference, quantities, any drawing revision, and the assembly in which the component will be used. For OEM purchases, include a contact who can resolve specification questions before fulfillment.
